Insolite...

What a surprise I got when removing the cap which protect the trailer hook. Some of our flying friends did use my trailer as a support for their nest.

My most preferred gliders...

My first glider I owned was a ASW-17 glider. The ASW-17 is a glass fiber glider of the first generation with a wing span of 20 meters. It has a 48 best gliding ratio meaning that at an altitude of 1 km above ground, you could fly 48 km before reaching ground level.

A few years later, I bought a Nimbus 3T. Especially interested by a glider having a turbo engine, I bought this glider in Germany.

After about 6 years, I sold the Nimbus 3T. Now I am flying with an ASH-26E and a Blanik L-13.

One of my first outlanding

In the years 80, I was flying from Issoudun (France) on cross country. After several hours of flight, I had to land out. Unfortunately, when I was in final, I could only detect that the field I had selected was a corn field. I was flying with a Ka-8b. So I reduced the speed to the minimum and landed without any problem.

It took about 3 hours of intensive work for getting the glider out of the corn field. The farmer was not very happy...

We derigged the glider on the end of the corn fiield beside a small street between Issoudun and Vierzon.

There was enough corn inside the Ka-8 fuselage that the next day, I could prepare bread for all the people staying at the camping of the Issoudun airfield.

When I came back to the Issoudun airfield, I remember that my Chief Pilot was not very happy about my performance. He told me that I could get seriously injured in such landing. Not an experience to be repeated.
